September 2016 Newsletter
First off we wish to thank everyone who came out to last months happy hour as well as to our movie afternoon. Just a fast apology to the member who could not find our group. We will coordinate better for our next movie afternoon. Our August movie Florence Foster Jenkins was a big hit with everyone who attended and we are already planning another movie afternoon in Nov. Well Membership welcome to Autumn! As we enter the last quarter of our season we have some great things on the horizon. We are very excited to announce two Musical happy hours for the month of Sept. First on Thurs. Sept. 22nd we once again welcome the talented Mr. James Woolwine to TLC. James was one of this years Talent Show Champions and is simply a wonderful guitarist. Then on Sat. Sept. 24th, we are in for another treat! New musical group Charter Flight will make it’s first appearance ever and it will be for us…TLC! Next month we will be having a special Halloween themed event.
We still have a small handful of people who need to pay their 2016 dues. Please make every effort to pay your annual dues ASAP as it is the only way we can continue the high level of entertainment we all enjoy.
Lastly, we wish to announce the start of another wonderful organization created to celebrate and patronize the arts. Friends of FIU music is starting up. This wonderful organization celebrates music across all its many genres. Our club is honored to announce that two of our TLC board members, Ernesto Martinez and Richard Webster have been asked to sit on the board of this new exciting organization. An introductory one year membership is being offered at the incredible price of just $25 for the first year. The benefits and events are simply amazing. If you would like any further information on this new organization please feel free to respond to this email.
