Once again the holidays are looming and the busy time of year is upon each of us. We sure hope you will set aside a little time in your schedule for a TLC event or two. From Oktoberfest in Broward to Halloween fun in Miami we have it for you this month. Just take your pick of the fun! Last month we had the honor of hosting the new local group Charter Flight as they made their first ever performance. What a show it was! We also had Mr. James Woolwine on hand for another evening of fine guitar music. We plan to have both these wonderful acts back again real soon!

Sat. Oct. 22nd 2016: Please join us for our monthly Happy Hour. This month we are pleased to have Mr. John Morris lead us in some Halloween Fun! There will be food, a Halloween basket of cheer to raffle off as well as a 50/50 raffle!!! This event is free for TLC members!!!! There is a small $2 fee for non-members but that will be waved as well should they join! The fun starts at 5:30pm and goes to 7:30pm.

Lastly, we wish to announce the start of another wonderful organization created to celebrate and patronize the arts. Friends of FIU music is starting up. This wonderful organization celebrates music across all its many genres. Our club is honored to announce that two of our TLC board members, Ernesto Martinez and Richard Webster have been asked to sit on the board of this new exciting organization. An introductory one year membership is being offered at the incredible price of just $25 for the first year. The benefits and events are simply amazing.

Welcome to the 2016 TLC season of fun and community. We could not be more excited about the upcoming schedule of events and the wonderful plans we have.  This year we will have both events which you are familiar with such as our annual Talent Show and our now very successful musical happy hours as well as new events. We plan to continue to grow our Broward membership. Although it is a bit early to write about summer 2016, we are very excited about the plans we have to provide you and your families many social options including but not limited to a summer movie group.  As you can see we are very excited about our 13th year and know it will be a lucky 13.

On behalf of the entire board of the TLC I wish to extend a most happy New Year 2015 to one and all.  It seem like so much time has gone by since our last event, the Holiday Party.  Our turn out was wonderful and the event was a huge success.  Thanks to you we were able to send over 30 toys to the USMC Toys for TOTS program.  As you know our holiday party is the official kick off to the new TLC season and this one is looking to be better than ever!  We wish to thank all those who have sent in their renewal dues and ask that if you have not, please do so as soon as possible.  Remember the cost has gone up to $24 a year.

We kick off the year with a wonderful event in Broward on the 31st.  This is just around the corner, so please RSVP to Lisa as soon as you know you are going or to this email so that you know where to meet up.  Then in Feb. we have our first happy hour of the year.  More news about that event will come out in the Feb. newsletter but mark the date down now as it will be a good one.
