Happy New Year Membership!
Welcome to 2017. We want to start off by saying how wonderful the turn out for the 2016 holiday party was! 25 TLC members were joined by about 30 members of the Sons of the American Legion for what made for a terrific time. Some important shout outs to Sue Floyd who cooked for the event and Charter Flight who performed. What a great show! Also I want to thank Kat who donated items for the basket of Joy.
Now on to new business. We have some absolutely amazing events planned for the first quarter of 2017 but it takes you to make the event special! We will try to list as many events as soon as we can to ensure you leave space on your busy South Florida schedules. Please note that we have a wonderful movie outing already planned for this Sat. Please let us know if you can make it so we know to look for you. Last time we did a movie a member was not able to find our group and that’s not fun! Remember that TLC will be picking up the popcorn for members who have paid your dues. Gee at the cost of movie popcorn nowadays, your $24 may be covered Sat. See below for our time and location. We may follow the movie up with dinner if there is interest.
Later in Jan. we will have this months happy hour with special guest James Woolwine. Please make every effort to come out and see for yourself what an amazing performer James is! Again check date below and remember that this event is free for TLC members who have paid there 2017 dues. $4 for a guest.
Are you a mystery solver? Well very soon we are planning a very special event at Great Escape in beautiful Coral Gables! A group of tlc members will be locked in a room with only 1 hour to solve the puzzles and escape. If you think you have what it takes, RSVP your interest as we will plan this event based on interest. We are looking to plan this fun event in Feb. or March.
In March we will be getting a group together to enjoy St. Patty’s Day once more at St. Stephen’s.
So as you see we have as full a TLC schedule as we have ever presented. All we need is you!

The Theater Lovers Community will be enjoying a movie night.
Come out and see “Passengers”!
Although the official time for Sat. is not available, there is a 4:55 posted as of now. Therefore the plan is to go to that movie or whatever is closest to it in time.
Location: The all new landmark theater in Merrick Park
We may get a bite as well.

Lastly, we wish to announce the start of another wonderful organization created to celebrate and patronize the arts. Friends of FIU Music is starting up. This wonderful organization celebrates music across all its many genres. Our club is honored to announce that two of our TLC board members, Ernesto Martinez and Richard Webster have been asked to sit on the board of this new exciting organization. An introductory one year membership is being offered at the incredible price of just $25 for the first year. The benefits and events are simply amazing.
