May/Early June 2020 Newsletter
Dear Membership,
As Florida continues to move towards a full opening, we at TLC are happy to tell you the membership that we are monitoring the state and local government’s recommendations. It looks that we will be back in business mid. to late June. When that happens we will send a newsletter with our scheduled events. Some of you have inquired about online events. The board is discussing such events as of this post. If you would be willing to host a zoom event, please let us know.
We have started the process of reaching out to our TLC performers and am happy to say of those reaches thus far, they are ready to perform. We await the reopening of our host base…The American Legion. Word has it, that they will reopen in a few short weeks. When this happens, we will be scheduling our normal monthly happy hours.
We are considering both virtual events along with live TLC events in order to accommodate our membership.
Now, to what we have been doing behind the scenes. Well, TLC has been busy. This month we renewed our state of Fla. License. Thanks to such a great response to dues payments over the past 5 months, TLC is financially stable in the midst of these trying times.
This week we will once again award the Theater Lovers Community Spirit award to a very deserving young man for his dedication to the Arts. Ikponwonsa Osaghae is a fine young man, not only in the arts but academically, as a writer and as a person! IK, as he likes to be called, will be receiving a $50 award from us along with a beautiful plaque.
Please monitor your TLC website and look for a late June newsletter updating what we hope will be a nice offering of TLC events. If you have not paid your 2020 dues., please consider taking a moment and sending them in today.
